Compassion-focused therapy

Our brains naturally focus on the negative and we are often accompanied by a critical inner voice which offers a running commentary as we go about our daily live. CBT is primarily focused on thinking and behaviour change but CFT looks at the emotion behind people’s thoughts. By helping people to feel compassion positive physiological changes occur in your body in much the same way that just imagining your favourite food can make your mouth water. In therapy you will learn about why CFT works and will also learn tools to help you to help yourself.
